He wasn’t surprised to find her in her room again, after all it seemed like she never left it anymore even though he knew she still teached the children.
“Are you planing to leave this room?” He asked, leaning on the door.
“Soon enough.” She said, not even lifting her head.
He stepped foward, he was expecting her to be difficult but she had had her time of mourning, now it was time to move on.
“What are you doing Helga?” He asked.
“Brushing my hair, isn’t it obvious?”
This is not you, Godric wanted to say. Stop being like this.
For a while no one said anything and only the sound of the brush smooting the hair could be heard.
“Please Helga…Rowena needs you.” He said. “I need you.”
That made her turn arround but her eyes were hard and accusing.
“You don’t need me Godric.”
He knelt in front of her and took her hands in his.
“But i do, more than you know…please…we need you to be yourself again…i need you to be yourself again.”
That broke her, he tought. He could see the tears starting to form in her eyes.
“I just…i don’t understan why he would do this…” She cried.
“It was just…destiny.” Godric said, not knowing what else to say or even how to explain what had happened, no one really understood what had happened.
“You’re wrong.” A voice interrupted their conversation. It was Rowena, leaning on the same spot Godric had been moments ago.
“Destiny is when a child is taken from its mother, when a husband is taken from his wife.” She said, entering the room. “No, this is not destiny, this is a choice, his choice. He chose to leave.”
“He…he wouldn’t.” Helga sobbed. “He loves us.”
Rowena arched one of her perfect brows.
“He loves you.” She said. “He hates me and he hates Godric even more.”
Helga turned to look at Godric, hoping he would back her up but found him with his head down, looking embarrassed.
He doesn’t want to say it but it’s true, Helga realized. It’s true.

“You gave it all
Into the call
You took a chance and
You took a fall for us
You came thoughtfully
Loved me faithfully
You taught me honor
You did it for me

Tonight you will slip away
You will wait
For me my love

Now I am strong (Now I am strong)
You gave me all
You gave all you had
And now I am whole”
